6 Reasons Why Every Nigerian Should Use Public Transportation Systems

Owning a car in Nigerian is a major necessity.

But have you considered what you’d lose out if you always had to drive to any location in your car? Dearies, you’d be missing out on a lot of things.

Once in a while, it’s good to ditch those fancy 4 wheels of yours. Let your hair down and take public transportations. Somedays are ‘it’ while some are not. Either way, you’ve got nothing to loose.

Here are 6 reasons why you should use the public transportation systems:

1. Latest Gossip

Like the Olympic boxer who knocked out his opponent in 23 secs due to frustrations from the Nigerian government, I’ve resolved never to listen to any local news again. It’s so discouraging. To and from work, I need not listen to the news or read the dailies. I hear everything I need to in the bus/Cab/Okada. It’s your one-stop shop for the latest gossip.

2. Savings

If you’re the type that runs around a lot, ditch your car and take T.P as we call it in Naija once in a while. You’d be amazed how much you’d save on fuel. This would be applicable to people who aren’t shy using town buses, Keke napeps and co. In the end, you’d be smiling yourself to the bank .

3. Comic Relief

A human being is expected to have 5 minutes of comic relief a day. Well for me, I often get to enjoy 2 hours of comic relief a day. Getting frustrated, take a ride and watch Naija people amuse you to death.

4. Relationships

Love crawls in places you least expect. You never know who you might meet and what could come out of it. If love can be found over the internet, why not on the bus as well?

5. Exercise

For people who barely have time to hit the gym, this is your perfect alternative. You get to walk ample distances that should keep you healthy. Not every time car to the gate, gate to the car. Exercise those legs, baby!

6. You Beat Traffic

Have you ever noticed how Okada riders and Keke napep guys manoeuvre traffic? Jeez. When I’m in a hurry, I pack that hair in a band, flag down an Okada and off we go.

P.S watch which ones you ride in before One Chance chance you.
