Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho sure is on a serious roll. Even before the excitement from the electrifying performance by Chris Brown on Saturday cooled down, he dropped a bombshell at the highly-publicised event.
The politician said that plans are underway to bring sought after American rapper Nicki Minaj to Mombasa. He made the announcement at Mombasa Golf Club shortly after Chris Brown exited the stage, saying that negotiations with the superstar are ongoing.
If the Anaconda hit singer comes to Kenya, it will be her third country to visit in Africa after South Africa and Angola.
Nicki Minaj is said to be one of the most expensive artistes in the world to book.
In 2015, Minaj was reportedly paid Sh200 Million after being invited for a performance in Angola by President Jose Eduardo dos Santos.
Her performance in Luanda, Angola in 2015 was however controversial. Human rights activists and critics called for her concert to be canceled but Nicki Minaj went on to perform.
